We are dedicated to breeding high quality Harris' Hawks for use in the sport of falconry. Unlike many breeders, we only use proven birds in our project. No rejects, misfits, hand-me-downs, or basket cases allowed. If it didn't cut it in the field, it won't cut it in the breeding chamber! Why bother with a sub-par bird, when you can get the real thing?
Our goal is producing a lifetime hunting partner for the falconer wanting the best. A social, well mannered bird, that is aggressive in the field. Our birds are housed in open chambers, where they are constantly exposed to all of the activities involved in day to day life on our property. Lawn mowers, yapping dogs, airplanes flying overhead, etc. The offspring are parent reared for a minimum of 16 weeks to ensure that they are well socialized, and to avoid malimprinting. We take the extra step of tossing a lot of live food in the chambers as the chicks mature, ensuring a bird that's easily entered in the field. All birds have made multiple catches by the time they go to their new homes.
All of our breeding stock are successfull hunters, having taken a wide variety of quarry, and have been flown extensively over dogs. Their offspring are well mannered, yet aggressive on game, the perfect combination for a hunting partner.
You haven't flown a gamehawk, until you've flown an OUTLAW.
